RESULTS: 50% of all submissions accepted without prior rejection, repeat sales to magazines, and research of publishing industry led to becoming publisher/editor-in-chief of small press, resulting in experience on both sides of the write-sell equation

SKILLS: researching and outlining, writing drafts with minimal specs, working closely with client to determine client's needs and provide documentation to meet them, editing client's rough drafts (expertise in Texas school finance, student services, and insurance industry, but able to grasp new concepts in almost any field and put them into plain language)

RESULTS: seven-year ongoing client-writer relationship, producing  1000+ pages of original documentation for new software systems,  maintaining manuals and smaller documents as software is updated, producing public relations and marketing documents for the same company


Freelance Contracted Professional

SKILLS: engaged in nearly every facet of Texas school business office processing and data entry, including Budget entry, End of Fiscal Year processing, PEIMS processing, and stints as interim bookkeeper, interim payroll clerk, and interim accounts payable clerk

RESULTS:  new and repeat business with several schools, including 4 long-term contracts

RESULTS: publication of children's novel and posting new writers' material on web weekly

SKILLS: securing and scheduling speaking engagements, writing and delivering talks on diverse subjects to audiences in schools, civic organizations, and congregations

RESULTS: sold 350 copies ($10 each) of children's novel in 3 months as result of speaking events

SKILLS: development of training materials, one-on-one and group training in person and via the internet, moderating discussions, facilitating constructive feedback, motivating others to learn and to practice new knowledge and skills in both corporate settings and local writers' group setting

Technical Writer/Instructor for a software company specializing in Texas school business and campus office software for seven years, developing and writing 15 new technical manuals (averaging 100 pages each) in the first year and 5 more new manuals in subsequent years, writing countless smaller documents, maintaining those manuals and documents, preparing seminar materials for myself and other trainers, conducting training seminars, conducting in-house training, training one-on-one and small groups at clients' sites, scheduling all seminars and other training for myself and two other instructors, making all our reservations and travel arrangements, coordinating clients' needs and instructors' needs
